This Privacy Policy describes how AdFocusLab ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our application, AdFocusLab (the "Application"), which interacts with the Google Ads API.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines our practices concerning the data accessed via the Google Ads API and any other personal information we collect.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the functionality of AdFocusLab, we access the following types of information via the Google Ads API, solely upon your explicit authorization:
- Google Ads Account Information: Account structure data, including Campaign names and IDs, Ad Group names and IDs.
- Google Ads Performance Data: Data related to your Search Campaigns, primarily Search Terms report data, which includes:
- Search terms that triggered your ads.
- Performance metrics associated with those search terms (e.g., clicks, impressions, cost, conversions).
- Information about the keyword, ad group, and campaign that triggered the ad for a given search term.
- Negative Keyword Information: We access existing negative keywords (if needed for display, though MVP might skip this) and use the API to add new negative keywords based on your actions within the Application.
We also collect:
- Authentication Information: When you connect your Google Account, Google provides us with basic profile information associated with your account (such as your email address) and authorization tokens (specifically refresh tokens) necessary to maintain the connection with the Google Ads API on your behalf.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide Core Application Functionality:
- To fetch and display your Google Ads search term report data within the Application.
- To allow you to analyze this data based on performance metrics.
- To enable you to select search terms and add them as negative keywords to your specified Ad Groups or Campaigns within your Google Ads account, at your direction.
- To Authenticate Your Account: To securely connect to your Google Ads account via Google's OAuth mechanism.
- To Maintain and Improve the Service: We may use aggregated, anonymized data related to application usage (not your specific Ads data) to understand how the Application is used and identify areas for improvement (though detailed tracking is likely outside MVP scope).
AdFocusLab's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not use your Google Ads data for any other purpose, such as advertising, selling data, or unrelated analysis. Access is limited to the minimum required to provide the Application's features.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or your Google Ads data with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- With Google: We necessarily interact with the Google Ads API to retrieve your data (based on your authorization) and to push changes (like adding negative keywords) back to your account at your request. This use is governed by Google's terms and policies.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process.
4. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle:
- Authentication Tokens: Google API refresh tokens are stored securely using industry-standard practices (e.g., encryption at rest).
- Google Ads Data: Your Google Ads data is primarily processed in real-time or stored temporarily as needed to provide the service during your active session. We minimize persistent storage of your sensitive Ads data beyond essential configuration or temporary caching needed for performance.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your authentication tokens as long as you maintain an active connection between AdFocusLab and your Google Account. We retain minimal application-specific data necessary for the service. If you disconnect your Google Account or request deletion, we will delete associated tokens and stored data according to our procedures.
Our current retention policy is 60 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and Control Your Google Ads Data: You control your data directly within your Google Ads account.
- Revoke Access: You can revoke the Application's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account security settings. Revoking access will prevent the Application from functioning.
- Request Deletion: You may request the deletion of any minimal account information we store by contacting us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the Application or on our website. Your continued use of the Application after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
